Is Benas Country Lodge is situated within easy reach of a number of intriguing archaeological sites, which can be visited either as part of a guided tour or individually.

The finest include the nearby excavations at the ancient port of Tharros, dating from the prehistoric period, then occupied by the Phoenicians, followed by the Romans. There are also the remains of the Roman spa at Fordongianus, the excavations (still in progress) at the Carthaginian/Roman port of Cornus, the recently discovered Giants of Monte Prama (a number of which are now displayed in the nearby small town of Cabras), and numerous monumental Bronze Age nuraghi scattered throughout Oristano Province and indeed the whole island of Sardinia.

Our Reception can provide maps and information.
